Position Description

The Bureau for Planning, Learning, and Resource Management (PLR) at USAID is responsible for aligning policies with budgets, planning, and program management. PLR's work focuses on using evidence to guide decisions, fostering collaboration, and encouraging innovation. Dedicated to leadership, teamwork, and inclusivity, PLR ensures that USAID's programs are effectively planned, managed, and adapted to create lasting positive outcomes worldwide.


ZemiTek, a trusted partner providing institutional support services to PLR, is actively recruiting for Program Assistant position in support of the Policy Implementation Assessments (PIA) office at PLR. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the impactful work of PLR, supporting USAID's mission to foster global development and humanitarian efforts.

Location: Washington, DC
Position Type: Full-time (Hybrid - requires reporting to the office at least 3 days per week)

Starting Salary Range: $64,000 - $67,000 a year with the starting salary determined based on candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance

Responsibilities

· Provide administrative support to the Director and Deputy Director, including strategic calendar management, scheduling, meeting preparation, logistical support, and other tasks as requested.
· Edit and draft correspondence, recommendations, reports, and memoranda related to the work of the PIA office.
· Conduct research, analysis, and prepare short reports on existing or planned programs.
· Perform notetaking, draft, and circulate meeting minutes.
· Manage PLR responses to requests from the PLR Front Office and other USAID bureaus, ensuring all briefers and clearances are completed and submitted on time.
· Perform outreach and communication with internal and external stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
· Review, task, and track technical documents, ensuring a shared, organized electronic filing system is maintained.
· Apply administrative policies, maintain databases, and handle staff requirements.
· Complete travel authorizations for office principals, including clearances, securing visas, and voucher preparation. Advise other staff on travel procedures as needed.
· Monitor payroll, time and attendance records, and manage deadline tracking systems.
· Provide advice to managers and employees on administrative services and coordinate with other USAID bureaus on collaborative responses.
· Perform other duties and special activities as assigned.

Qualifications

· A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in fields such as International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related area relevant to the responsibilities of this role and at least two (2) years of experience in a similar administrative or program support role, ideally within an international development organization, government agency, or non-profit.
· Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to evolving priorities, changing environments, and new technologies, while maintaining high levels of productivity and effectively managing competing tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
· Commitment to being a strong advocate for equity, inclusion, and uplifting marginalized voices.
· Ability to obtain a Secret-level Clearance required (US citizenship)
