Position Description

USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (USAID/BHA) is the lead federal coordinator for international disaster assistance. USAID/BHA provides and coordinates U.S. Government (USG) international humanitarian assistance to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the physical, social, and economic impact of rapid and slow-onset disasters by helping people in need become more resilient to future crises. Team Credence, through the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance Support Contract (BHASC), provides operational and administrative support to provide and coordinate humanitarian assistance and maintain 24/7 response capability.


The Internal Control Coordinator will support BHA's Internal Control and Risk Management (ICRM) team in the Audit, Risk, and Performance Management (ARPM) Division of BHA's Office of Humanitarian Business and Management Operations (HBMO). Working with the Risk and Internal Control (RIC) Unit, the Internal Control Coordinator will coordinate engagement with BHA on Internal Control and Risk Management guidance products including training, listening sessions, and other engagements. The position is also responsible for supporting the RIC Unit's corporate enterprise risk management, internal control duties, and general RIC Unit processes and systems.

The Internal Control Coordinator reports to the ICRM Team Lead or designee, with formal supervisory and evaluation functions performed by a Team Credence contract supervisor.

Day-to-day work assignments and oversight are provided by the ICRM Team Lead or designee, with formal supervisory and evaluation functions performed by a Credence contract supervisor.

Location: Washington, DC
Position Type: Full-time (Hybrid - requires reporting to the office at least 3 days per week)

Starting Salary Range: $67,000 - $72,000 a year with the starting salary determined based on candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance (US citizenship required).

Responsibilities

● Coordinate BHA's Risk and Internal Control Working Group meetings and membership. 
● Provide project management support for cross-team, division, and office outreach including scheduling, developing informational presentations, presenting material, synthesizing and analyzing data, and responding to questions.
● Support ICRM Team colleagues in implementing BHA's corporate enterprise risk management and internal control practices. 
● Liaise with BHA's Training Unit on risk management and internal control-related training including scheduling, participant enrollment, course design, and content.
● Research, draft, and edit guidance documents and templates on specific risk management and internal control policies and processes.  
● Support the development and implementation of new ICRM team processes and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of team operations. 
● Research, collect, and analyze data in response to internal or external data requests.
● Monitor programmatic, technical, or administrative trackers for data quality. 
● Support program irregularity incident reporting analysis and assisting to strengthen its tracking and data quality processes.
● Create and manage compliance and risk management folders and filing systems.
● Assist with the coordination of proper information flow with internal stakeholders.
● Ensure that files are maintained and follow privacy protocols.
● Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

BA/BS and zero (0)+ years of relevant experience, OR High school diploma and four (4) relevant years of Experience must culminate in a set of responsibilities similar to those of this position.


Preferred Education and Experience
o BA/BS and at least two (2) years of relevant experience in working in emergency relief or humanitarian assistance and working on USG-funded grants or contracts, OR a High school diploma and six (6) relevant years of experience in working in emergency relief or humanitarian assistance and working on USG-funded grants or contracts.
● Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government issued Secret clearance for the duration of your employment.

● Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
● Data entry skills, trend analysis, and experience handling sensitive information are a plus.
● Experience facilitating trainings or meetings is a plus.
● Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
o In-person work requirement with the ability to telework;
o Lifting in excess of 25 lbs, standing for long periods of time, transporting equipment, etc. may be required depending on role.
